Sir, I am Sreepathy, resident of Bangalore, aged 53 yrs, having little
knowledge on computer system, knowing few simple commands of
FoxBase.

Sir I am in the process of generating a DataBase of my family, i.e
database of family members address, profession, detail of family
members etc.

Since I don't know any other computer coding languages, I thought
I can manage with using utility commands of FoxBase and carry
on my work.

But the problem is FoxBase will not get executed in Vista / Window XP
and presently Windows 98 O/s is hardly used.

To overcome my problem I decided to switch over to FoxPro from FoxBase
and I purchased your Visual FoxPro Made Simple book recently.

Can some one mail me a set of sample source which I can manage to follow
the procedure and generate a source code to maintain my family database.

my requirement is

1. Menu programme (like data entry, listing, exit)
2. Simple Data entry programme with facility like
a. brows and pick city names/codes from another database file.
b. brows and pick profession from hardcoded list
c. date validation for date of birth
d. facility to add new record, modify the existing record and delete
the unwanted record.
3. Printing programme, like address labels or family tree formation.... or
city-wise family members list.
4. (If possible) Programme to send mass e-mail (i.e to all members) using
mail address from the .dbf file (e.g sending invitation/notifications)...
5. Programm to brows the database to check/quick search the availability
of any perticular name on the basis of name/city control

My aim is if I generate executable file for this process, any of my
family members can work on this without the knowledge of FoxPro/
FoxBase basic utility commands

I once again request the community please oblige and help me in this
regards. The only problem in FoxPro is no books are available in the
market in Bangalore, India.

Please note that my requirement is only for personal use and not
for commercial purpose. I am not afford to spend huge money for
this requirement.

Or please let me know where I can get a book to learn more on
FoxPro-9 programming. In Bangalore there is no books available
after FoxPro 2.5.
