He's probably used to mucking around in an application's data to do his own reporting or in fixing data he can't figure out how to fix with the application. You can either use the Access data with your Fox application or give him the tools he needs in your application.

You might point out that he need not concern himself with what product the application is written in as long as he gets what he needs and that it is in a language that others can support if you leave.
