> I am deeply saddened by the news that our good friend Ken Murphy has passed away of a heart attack on Sunday, April 27, after he had done the music for the Sunday Mass. Ken was a good friend who helped me and many other members many times. I will always remember his enthusiasm for his work here at Foxite and his church and his country. He will be missed. I wish his wife Gail and his children, his family and other friends all the best and they are in my thoughts and prayers. Ken, may you rest in peace.

i am just a newbie here but from the outset one man stood out about all the rest. i was surprised by his interest in helping me, but as i read the treads started by others i realized that he helped everyone.
in his last message to me, he offered the following piece of his wisdom:
"Garth,
I most certainly applaud your willingness to learn and grow, and to give back to Foxite. There is an old expression that I use often: "If training is not important to your job, in a very short time, your job will not be very important." Dedicating a portion of your day to learning is critical to your growth as a developer. As strange as it may sound, dedicating a portion of your day will not actually increase your workload, nor will that time result in lost productivity. I have found that time spent in reading threads has provided me with knowledge that allows me to reduce the time it takes to do development work. An application that might have taken me a month to develop 10 years ago might only take me a week (or less) to develop today."
i was very pleased to receive these words of encouragement from him. i'll try my best not to disappoint.
i hardly knew him but i know he was very very special.
ken will indeed be missed by all. it is a sad day!
