I've moved away from Desktop to Web development. Actually, my last real VFP desktop app was written in VFP7 and I have never needed to upgrade this app to VFP8 or VFP9.

> That may be fortunate for you, but it's not a practical viewpoint for the rest of us. I, for one, am working on a new VFP desktop app, so they certainly still exist. I like to encourage my clients to buy their own copy of VFP, and I provide them with source code, so that they are independent from me, should they need to find someone else to take over their development. I'm not going to be able to request that clients buy their own copy if VFP it's no longer available. How long you can continue to buy VFP is still a point that needs to be worked out.

I understand your pov and I know many VFP desktop apps exist... I have to maintain a few dozen on hundreds of customer sites too. But my point was that I do not NEED a VFP10. I am happy with VFP8. And I am even happier with VFP9. I do need an update to address IDE refresh issues on Vista and no doubt others need the SP2 for their desktop runtime environments as well. But again, at this moment I see no need for a VFP10 or Sedna for me personally.
I hope Microsoft will come with a good solution with regards to the availability of new VFP9 licenses.
