> This action will be written on the account of YAG, Milind, BG and all others who are responsible for killing the fox. They did nothing less!

MY best guess is that people like YAG, Ken Levy, Milind Lele, BG or anybody connected to VFP in any way will never have a quiet day again and most certainly they will never have the guts to look anybody straight in the eye!

I like to add something to this issue.
In 2002, a certain german musical software developer decided to stop development on Windows platform, and focus on Apple. Big consternation in the musical world. At that time, I used this program for 3 years, and felt very good with it. It felt familiar, I could do whatever I wanted to do with it. Now, 5 years further, I'm still doing wild stuff with this software (I didn't switch to another platform or tool). Even more : the technology did change in some direction, but the software can still deal with it. It runs fine in Windows XP SP2, and it's still one heck of a thing...
A question is : can it still run on Vista ? I found out on the Internet that this should be possible. But I'm not switching (why should I, Win2000 and XP are OK ?)
Another question is : is it compatible ? Well, on Windows XP SP2, it gave no problem at all, the only thing that really mattered were the drivers for the sound card, that needed to be updated. It has a very solid core.
So, to compare it with VFP : VFP is open, and can deal with a lot of techniques. As long as it can live on the new OS, which will be developed by MS, I think it's OK. VFP is robust (I run VFP9 on Windows 98 and on Vista !), it's core is very stable, and has practical no limits (Last week, I found out that there are VFP programmers who made a OFFICE 2007 menu structure, using only VFP !)
Yes, I agree : in the future, new technologies will come, but at which speed ? What will they bring ?
And how far will VFP be able to emulate them ?
