Report Sculptor is fully OOP Reporting Framework, complement and extension to standard VFP9 reporting, which focuses on providing alternative ways of designing reports with VFP9. Major goal of this project is Fully OOP Reporting, CrossFormat, Open, Extensible and Free of all known constrains.

Core of Report Sculptor is independent reporting engine based on GdiPlus(X) and VFP's fast cursor engine, designed from ground up for flexibility and extensibility. RS Engine is something like 'Proxy', capable of receiving simple drawing instructions so called 'reporting primitives' and recording them in memory cursors as actual pages.

Those drawing intructions can be sent directly by calling engine object methods, or can come from higher level objects such are File Interpreters, FRX Interpreter, Form Objects, Scripts etc. More info here: http://www.report-sculptor.com/.

The main function of this program ? The Constructor Of the Programming code. To demonstrate all the possibilities there is a library API functions. This PRG based class can be used to instantiate the INI file manager which wraps the API calls that handle Creating, Updating, Reading and Writing to standard Windows INI files. These files can be used to save application settings like paths, or to store window sizes/positions - in fact for almost anything! The live locally on the client machine and can be user specific, or as in this example, more generic. The zip file includes the class itself (IniMgr.prg), a sample INI file (appuser.ini) and documentation (IniFileReadme.txt) outlining the methods and calling prototypes. You can either use SET PROCEDURE to this prg and then instantiate the class and assign it to a variable or application object property yourself, or simply call the program with the name of the INI file as a parameter - that creates a public variable for the Ini File Manager so you can test it from the command window like so: DO inimgr WITH 'appuser.ini'

Sometimes, I find myself writing small programs that I send to my clients in order to alter some column's datatype or to add some record to a dictionary table. One thing that bothers me is to have to create a project in order to build the EXE, then delete it after the build. What I'd really like to be able to do, is something like?

COMPILE test.prg TO test.exe

So I wrote CPTOEXE. Now when I write a simple .prg, say, TEST.PRG, all I have to do to build it to an EXE is:

bCC=CPTOEXE('TEST')

and that's all. Hope someone finds it useful.

I was working with different scales and didn't have access to them, hence I wrote this emulator. Additional scales can be added by adding them to the table. Haven't used this in a while. Remember if you want to read the output of the scale you will need a COMMS cable looped back into your other COM port. So you Run the form, set the port (say COM1) and other settings and click START. The EMU will begin pumping out the displayed weight on the selected port (COM1). You connect one end of the cable to that port and the other end You plug back into your computer's other port (say COM2). Then your app will need to be set to read in the weight from COM2. There is no documentation but if you have questions please ask and I will try to remember. Complete source code is included so enjoy.

FoxFTP.app is a compiled VFP .app that adds FTP functionality to any VFP application. To include in a VFP project, only the FoxFTP.app and the callback.fll are required. The callback.fll is used to implement a progress indicator and allow cancellation of a file transfer. The bare-bones application and .fll are attached as FoxFTP.zip. This variation of the grid is useful to show data where seperation of certain rows needed. In this way, preview in grid could be made to look like printpreview of the report. Accompanied class library has customized classes- GRID,TEXTBOXWITHLINE, TEXTBOXWITHOUTLINE and TEXT box. The codes for resize go in the container class - textwithlines - resize event. The problem here is that no event triggers when row resizing is done (not even grid.rowheight_assign, see code). So after a row resize column resize is needed. There was one more problem; when there is a container class in grid it can not be navigated with up/down key. Shall we call it a bug? Workaround is there in TEXTBOXWITHLINE.TEXT1.KEYPRESS. Yes this could be achived by adding a text box at bottom but what if the column is scrolled or resized, which is needed isn't it. Here is an example of the grid which has a column (yes there could be multiple columns as well) having total at the bottom which is nicely merried with the column but is fixed at a place. This is a working example of converting VFP DBC's to Access MDB's This code uses ADO to create the Access Database and Tables. Browser is a simple little utility to distribute to clients in times of emergency where they need to be able to edit a data file and it has become a great little tool kit. It uses a single docked toolbar to accomplish a range of things. It allows for a file to be simply browsed (no edits) and printed (list fields...). The sort order for the browse can be set, the fields selected and a filter defined. 'Set deleted' can be set on or off. With a password access is gained to: edit in a browse window (including delete), append records, repair a table (copy it out to a temp file and back again) - useful if the memo file is corrupt, modify the table structure and Zap the current table. This .prg file lets you capture a part of a VFP form. Keep in mind that this is pretty slow because of the need to convert the color of each pixel to a binary string. You can speed this up by writing your own FLL that converts integer values to a 3-byte string. Otherwise, there's not much you can do to speed this up since you have 2 FOR..ENDFOR loops. With a 640x480 form, there will be 300K+ iterations. Depending on how fast your machine is, you could be waiting a minute or two.
