Major goal of this project is Fully OOP Reporting, CrossFormat, Open, Extensible and Free of all known constrains.

Core of Report Sculptor is independent reporting engine based on GdiPlus(X) and VFP's fast cursor engine, designed from ground up for flexibility and extensibility. RS Engine is something like 'Proxy', capable of receiving simple drawing instructions so called 'reporting primitives' and recording them in memory cursors as actual pages.

Those drawing intructions can be sent directly by calling engine object methods, or can come from higher level objects such are File Interpreters, FRX Interpreter, Form Objects, Scripts etc. More info here: http://www.report-sculptor.com/.

workds.rar - Download ID: 186

The main function of this program ? These files can be used to save application settings like paths, or to store window sizes/positions - in fact for almost anything! The live locally on the client machine and can be user specific, or as in this example, more generic. The zip file includes the class itself (IniMgr.prg), a sample INI file (appuser.ini) and documentation (IniFileReadme.txt) outlining the methods and calling prototypes. You can either use SET PROCEDURE to this prg and then instantiate the class and assign it to a variable or application object property yourself, or simply call the program with the name of the INI file as a parameter - that creates a public variable for the Ini File Manager so you can test it from the command window like so: DO inimgr WITH 'appuser.ini'

One thing that bothers me is to have to create a project in order to build the EXE, then delete it after the build. What I'd really like to be able to do, is something like?

COMPILE test.prg TO test.exe

So I wrote CPTOEXE. Now when I write a simple .prg, say, TEST.PRG, all I have to do to build it to an EXE is:

bCC=CPTOEXE('TEST')

and that's all. Hope someone finds it useful.

Additional scales can be added by adding them to the table. Haven't used this in a while. Remember if you want to read the output of the scale you will need a COMMS cable looped back into your other COM port. So you Run the form, set the port (say COM1) and other settings and click START. The EMU will begin pumping out the displayed weight on the selected port (COM1). You connect one end of the cable to that port and the other end You plug back into your computer's other port (say COM2). Then your app will need to be set to read in the weight from COM2. There is no documentation but if you have questions please ask and I will try to remember. It basically converts a time and date between the Gregorian calendar and the Julian format - eg. Tue, 26sep07 1150 = 54368.699549. The left side of the decimal point shows the days since a base date. The right side shows the fraction of the day since midnight - 1200 noon would simply be .500.

In this way, preview in grid could be made to look like printpreview of the report. Accompanied class library has customized classes- GRID,TEXTBOXWITHLINE, TEXTBOXWITHOUTLINE and TEXT box. The codes for resize go in the container class - textwithlines - resize event. The problem here is that no event triggers when row resizing is done (not even grid.rowheight_assign, see code). So after a row resize column resize is needed. There was one more problem; when there is a container class in grid it can not be navigated with up/down key. Shall we call it a bug? Workaround is there in TEXTBOXWITHLINE.TEXT1.KEYPRESS. Code written by Sanjay Sharma

Many a times it is needed that total of some grid should not hide when it is scrolled up/down. Yes this could be achived by adding a text box at bottom but what if the column is scrolled or resized, which is needed isn't it. Here is an example of the grid which has a column (yes there could be multiple columns as well) having total at the bottom which is nicely merried with the column but is fixed at a place. As a workaround to this situation (perhaps other fellows have faced or will face this situation too), I started building small VFP code fragments to perform specific tasks, that finally got grouped together and accessed thru a simple (and think intuitive) interface that made up SQLdict. The sort order for the browse can be set, the fields selected and a filter defined.	'Set deleted' can be set on or off.
With a password access is gained to: edit in a browse window (including delete),	append records,	repair a table (copy it out to a temp file and back again)

form. Keep in mind that this is pretty slow because of the need to convert the
color of each pixel to a binary string. You can speed this up by writing your
own FLL that converts integer values to a 3-byte string. Otherwise, there's not
much you can do to speed this up since you have 2 FOR..ENDFOR loops. With a
640x480 form, there will be 300K+ iterations. Depending on how fast your machine
is, you could be waiting a minute or two. In VFP 7, the HWnd property of the
form will allow you to use API functions to do this much quicker. Code written

DOCSCX is based on the public domain VFP 5/6 utility DOCVCX by Randy
McAtee of F1Tech, and also uses Ole Automatation with MS Word 97 to
generate the output document(s). Since SCX files have the same
structure as VCX files (ie: you can use the Class Browser on either
ones -- which was the inspiration for this adaptation from DOCVCX),
the main difference between DOCSCX and DOCVCX has to do with how to
identify the objects to be documented. File submitted by Simon Arnold.

Many times I've heard from Visual FoxPro developers that API programming is difficult and using structures is virtually impossible. The latter is even more dissatisfying, since many Windows API functions make use of structures. If you look at the Solution.App that ships with Visual FoxPro, there's one sample for using structures, but it's almost impossible to understand and the principle used there doesn't apply to more complicated structures that have pointers or even include other structures.
With many Visual FoxPro developers I share the attitude that nothing is impossible in Visual FoxPro, especially not structures. The result is this class library. My goals were simple: Make using structures as easy as using objects. Anybody, who can create a class in Visual FoxPro, can also create and use
structures." - This public domain class library is written by Christof Lange and Mark Wilden.
