The first version of the site was developed in Visual FoxPro 6. Soon after VFP7
was released to MSDN, the website's core engine was upgraded to VFP7. In December
2002, the website was updated to Version 3.
In March 2005, Foxite launched the first free Community Weblog service for Visual
FoxPro Developers called the
Foxite.COM Community Weblog. Version 4 was launched in August 2005. The site
was completely redesigned and rewritten.

Here's two pictures of old and current servers.

These boxes
were used from early 2002 to June 2005. Cassiopeia was a mail server as well
as the sql server used by archive search engine. Andromeda was, at that time,
the web server. Both machines were AMD 2000XP machines.

Puppis, Aquila and Vulpecula are the current servers. Puppis
is the mail server responsible for sending out the forum notification messages.
Aquila is the main web server running the
community weblog as well
as the main www.foxite.com website. This machine
is also running the external DNS. Last but not least: Vulpecula. This machine
is my Windows 2003 domain controller as well as the MP3 file server for my Xbox
Media Center system. See also:
