"Wait" in a program, and give back resources
Thread ID: 39938 Cheryl Bellucci "Wait" in a program, and give back resources I'm still working on this dang project... Are you all as sick of it as I am?
This program continuously checks a "queue" to see if there are any records to process. If I don't find any, I want to retreat back and "wait" for a couple of seconds while giving back any processor capacity to the other program running. Currently, I've issued an INKEY(2.0) to do that... but I've been questioned as to whether it "gives up" the processor.
What is the best way to wait without
taking up processor capacity? INKEY or some type of timer function?
Thanks guys...

_PageTotal
Thread ID: 49889 Steve Bloodsworth _PageTotal Having an issue with the new _PageTotal variable in Visual FoxPro 8 reporting.
I SELECT several orders worth of data. My grouping in my report is on Ordernum. There are several line items per order.
On my report I have some PrintWhens that are "_PAGENO=_PAGETOTAL". So I can have a (continues) if it isn't the last page.
Apparently the _PageTotal variable is not
taking into account Data Grouping and "Reset to Page 1"?
So I get _pageTotal=12 when it should only be 1, then 2, then 4, then 3, then 2 as it runs through the groups.
Is _pagetotal not meant to adhere to grouping resets?
Thanks for any help you can give.

A bit of calculation
Thread ID: 333003 lebron letchev A bit of calculation Hi,
Taking into account the table below, how I code calculation in VFP?
X = 304 / 5 - (36 / 5)2 = 60.8 - 7.22 = 8.96
I thought to create new columns to put the new variables resulting from calculation. Other option would be create variables in memory. In this 2nd case how I determine the decimals of these variables?
I want to apply the code for other applications.

Thread ID: 14150 Cheryl Bellucci Aha! More info... (Dale?) Here's what I've found out. In the call to PROG5, the problem form actually has TYPE("_Screen.ActiveForm") = "O", but _Screen.ActiveForm.BaseClass = "oleControl" and _Screen.ActiveForm.Name = "oleSignature".
Turns out, the problem form has a Kodak Image Edit box dropped on it to display a BMP file, and the _Screen.ActiveForm stuff seems to be taking its cue from it! airline rage
Thread ID: 111897 Boudewijn Lutgerink airline rage As a guy takes his seat on an airplane, he is surprised to find a parrot strapped in next to him. After taking off, the flight attendant comes around to serve the passengers on the plane. The guy asks the flight attendant for a coffee and the parrot squawks: "And get ME a coke...NOW!"
The flight attendant, flustered by the parrot's attitude, brings back a coke for the parrot. However, she forgets the coffee for the guy.
As the guy points this out, the parrot drains his glass and screams: "Get me another coke or I'll really create a scene!"
Quite upset, the attendant comes back shaking, with another coke, but still no coffee.

ALINES & APPEND FROM ARRAY
Thread ID: 240648 Ilya Rabyy ALINES & APPEND FROM ARRAY Colleagues,
I've got a subtitle for my report (stored in a Memo field in the report's cursor, but also saved in the local memvar), consisting of 0 to N lines (depending on the user's input), each line ends with CR.
Natürlich, I dunno how many lines will be in this subtitle, that is the number of the selection criteria the end user populates at the "Select Filters" screen.
It's all fine'n'dandy if the user wants output into a printed report, but the user can also order output into an XLS file.
That latter, as y'all know, ain't taking no Memo field. :-@

Alter Disk Partition size
Thread ID: 245649 kulwant singh Alter Disk Partition size Dear Experts,
My "Novice" hardware assembler provided the following partitions on my Hard Disk
C 6GB
D 15GB
E 30GB
F 29GB
Because C has the XP operating System and is so limited, I am now facing problems installing new software etc.
Even programs like Winzip which use C drive for temporary working space are failing to function for lack of Disk Space on C Drive. :-(
Is there a way, a utility that I can use to increase the Capacity of C Drive by taking up space from any other drive..other than "re_formatting the Hard Disk "

Dear guys,
I have this code - very useful code - a long time!
I think, however it is slow for a great lot of work.
It is a great code!
What it does?
1. It parses or split a memofield into 254 characters field. From one table to another.
2. It calculates and replace a field with "number sequences " in which a memofield is divided. Very fine!
3. And cut off each memofield into 254 characters, enter tab or the last blank space before 254 characters, taking care to preserve words integrity. It divides in 248, 253, etc.
I would like to get your help to improve

Thread ID: 69583 Andy Kramek Andy and Marcia are away Hi All
Just wanted to say that Marcia and I are taking off on Tuesday to visit family in the UK and then to give a one-day seminar on the Microsoft campus in Reading for the UK User group. After that we go on out to the Czech Republic to speak at what is going to be the world's biggest FoxPro conference this year, in Prague (21 - 23 June).
We'll probably be off-line for much of the time we are away but we will be back home, and back on line for Monday June 27th.
Hopefully we'll see some of you in the UK or in Prague - do come up and say hello if you are there.
