Provisionally sure at least. The code worked for years on end until I moved to a Windows 7 PC with IE 9 installed.

When I uninstalled IE 9 and reverted to IE 8 the code worked again.

My previous posting was as follows:

Hi all,

I have a program that interacts with my company's website using the following IE Automation.

oWeb = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
oWeb.Top = 5
oWeb.Left = 5
oWeb.Height = 800
oWeb.Width = 800
oWeb.Visible = .T.

SetForeGroundWindow(oWeb.HWND) && Uses DECLARE in WIN32API in main form.

oWeb.Navigate2("https://www.giddy-up.com.au/venue/Venue-Login.asp")

DO WHILE oWeb.ReadyState # 4
   waiting = Sleep(3000)
ENDDO

oWeb.Document.frmLogin.gulogin.Value = lcUser

oWeb.Document.frmLogin.gupwd.Value = lcPassword

oWeb.Document.frmLogin.Submit()

The last line of code clicks on the web page's Login button after the username and password go into the appropriate TextBoxes.

This code has been working successfully for years on XP machines.

One of the PCs was recently replaced with a Windows 7 machine and the same code no longer works.

The PC seems very fast by comparison to other PCs so I've tried placing various Sleep() calls without success.

I don't think speed is the issue anyway because when I place a MessageBox() before and after the Submit line I can see the username and password successfully "entered" at the point of the first MessageBox() but at the point of the second MessageBox(), which normally has moved on to the next web page, nothing has happened - that is, the line ...

oWeb.Document.frmLogin.Submit() && This line previously moved on to the next web page but now does nothing.

appears to have not clicked successfully on the Login button.
