Derek,
There is no connection with a menu and your active directory. It is also not logical to login with a menu item, usually you login with a login form and menu's are usually shown only after you have logged in.
Totally unclear what you are trying to accomplish here and what your problems are.
You must explain yourselves much more clearly.
