Hi,
I'm working on a project that involves automating IE to visit specific websites and Upload files to them. After some investigation I learned that Input tags with type=FILE aren't scriptable. I assume this is meant for scropting languages, such as javascript, but I also can't change specific properties of the HTML File input using the IE/DOM object. I've done this may times with non FILE input tags and I've done it on the same website with these tags, so I'm pretty sure my code is good. My question is, Is it possible to programmatically place a file path into the value portion of and HTML input tag of type=FILE. I know I can cheese my around this using windows shell.application object to tab to the correct input element and then have the shell simulate someone entering in the data, but I was looking for a more secure, better overall solution.
