However, I agree with Ammar that keeping the 3rd party builder out of the error scenario might help clearing things.

Depends on why it is running, i.e. who or what started the previous version of your EXE.
As a guess: I'd begin by looking in the Task Manager whether one or more instances of your.exe are running.
If they are running without being visible, the reason might be in (the previous version of) your code -
for instance, an EXE would keep running when you have a Do Form line followed by a Read Events while
_screen.Visible = .F. and yourForm.ShowWindow < 2 at the same time.
Or _screen is visible, and the form is modal, and there is a superfluous Read Events after the Do Form line.
