Mr. Bernard, thank you very much. I have understood the problem now. In my caOrders sub-class, there is no DataSource. I have added DataSource=oConn in the property sheet and the form is working ok now and saving changes made to the table. But nowhere in the tutorial you are saying that this property is to be set to oConn. What you are asking me is to do the following:

Selct first option "Use existing connection handle" and enter the value as oConn (assuming you have already entered oConn = SQLSTRINGCONNECT (.....) in the command line.

I did that, but still DataSource is shown as "None". And I think I know why. Can you check this at your end and tell me whether this is happening to you as well. Open your sub-class caOrders. Make sure the property sheet is open and you can see DataSource and DataSourceType properties. These properties definitely show the values oConn and ODBC respectively. Now open the CursorAdapter Builder. Check Use connection settings in builder only (tutorial says so), Data source type ODBC and choose Use existing connection handle oConn and clik Ok. Now you well see that property DataSource will change to None. Open the builder again you will see that none of the connection types selected and there is no "oConn" in the text box. Without checking Use connection settings in builder only choose use existing connection handle and enter oConn and close the builder. In the property sheet DataSource will change to oConn. Therefore, do you think checking Use connection settings in builder only caused my problem? Thanks for your advice.

Benny
