You could try to use Windows terminal services.

You put your application in a server and run it throu a desktop conection. Since the data don't really travel in the network (only screen updates) you can make it work with no need to recode at all.

The other alternative is that you rewrite your application using a Database server like MS SQL Server or MySQL, and make data transfer as small as you can to improve speed.
