To add tables at runtime you can use the command
USE tablename in 0
I mostly do that in the init event of the form

You can activate any row in a grid by moving the record pointer of the underlying cursor/table to the required record.
To activate column use

3. Decrease the height of the grid. Leave a border at the bottom. You can move the buttons down there to make it look ok
