Foxites,

I updated the download demo (first message of this thread) to reflect
a simple change that delivers a performance boost.

Not fully understanding the meaning of MouseDown and MouseUp, I put the
Listbox scroll's trigger in MouseDown, but by switching to MouseUp, you
get a pretty snappy effect.

Apparently, even before the ListBox moves to a new display position, the
TopIndex is updated.

I tested with about 250 records. There may still be problems at the high end,
such as when you reach a few thousand records. And using a Timer may help there.

Still, another option (not tested) is to use the Grid control as the scroller of
the container.

I looked through the examples Tom and Cetin pointed to me and was not
aware of those nice innovations.

Still, I'm going to continue my maniac mission to see if using the wider
surface of the container gives me benefits in creating a Windows Explorer
style of interface.

Dan B.
