You can use the TextWidth() method to determine fonts' width at runtime (depending on the current Windows acccount's Display properties settings), e.g.

form1 = CreateObject('Form')
form1.FontName = "Courier New"
? form1.TextWidth('test')
? form1.TextWidth('wwww')
? form1.TextWidth(SPACE(30))
form1.FontName = "Arial"
? form1.TextWidth(SPACE(30))
