When I start with VFP I organize enable and disable menus that way, I have an array named SkipMenu[number of pads in menu, number of maximum bars in longest pad]

For all of my menu bars I put in SKIP FOR clause:
SkipMenu[pad number, bar number]

then in Init Event of the form I have:
SkipMenu[pad number, bar number which calls that form] = .t.

in destroy event of that form:
SkipMenu[pad number, bar number which calls that form] = .f.

Now I use Doug Hennig SFMenu class adn I build and manage my menus like any other object. Just have:
MainAppObject.Menu.PadName.BarName.Enabled = .f.
MainAppObject.Menu.PadName.BarName.Enabled = .t.
