Marlon,
VFP really doesn't have "security settings" but you can (as Andy points out) create them in VFP. You can also use encryption software (or build your own.) But that is really not the point. VFP is a database tool. The whole purpose of VFP is to help people get the information that they need, when they need it. Placing restrictions on this capability would therefore be counterproductive to the purpose. On the other hand, security requirements are real. I typically use VFP to handle database issues and my server's security procedures (in my case Active Directory) to handle security issues. It really does make sense to use the best tool for the job. I am on good terms with my SysAdmin and we plan the security requirements for each app as part of the design method as a team. This seems to work well.
