That could be due to a couple of things.

First records that are marked for deletion are not shown in VFP if SET DELETED = ON. So make sure you have SET DELETED OFF before opening the table

Second, if you have a bad index you may not see some records, so try re-building the indexes (See the REINDEX command). If that doesn't work, delete all indexes on the table and re-create them.
