Operator/Operand Type Mismatch has nothing to do with runtime files. It has something to do with performing a calculation, comparison or anything with another data type.

For example you cannot search a character value on a field with numeric or logical type. Maybe during that searching, you are performing some sort of calculation. Check that all are numeric/integer values. Or you are combining character values from different objects, maybe one of them is a non-character in which case you have to employ TRANSFORM(). If one or more during the calculation/combination is of different type, you will have that error. You can check the type of the objects using TYPE() or VARTYPE().

Another is when doing a replacement of a field with a type that is different from that of a field. In other words, you cannot replace a date field with a character data, you need to convert it first with CTOD() function. But that is just an example, it is better to use date() type for a date field.
