If your symptom is not caused by Read Events getting out of scope, then you may need to continue searching for other possible reasons, see above.

(FWIW, the "main.prg" content you posted looks confusing, especially all lines after the Read Events do not seem to be required at run-time including the surprising "EndProc" line.)
