You need to set IWAM_YOURCOMPUTERNAME read permissions on the virtual directory.
You need to set IUSR_YOURCOMPUTERNAME read and execute permissions on the COM server.

Most times it is usually the permissions that cause this not to work.

If you download Web Connection and install it it will set up your system completely including the permissions. Then copy the same permissions/settions to your virtual directory. With web apps I have learnt the hard way that it will never work first time out.

> Thanks for responding guys ..... Sorry I was so vauge last time .... New day, new posting which I hope will be clearer.
> As far as the books .... I understand that Foxisapi is completly different to Web Connection. I have purchased both books in the hope to learn both. I was buying one so I thought I may as well buy the second.
> Firstly I hope to understand the Foxisapi and create a web site using this and then maybe look at Web Connection at a later date.
> I am using Window 2000 and IIS 5 and trying to create the server and client on my workstation.
> We as an organisation (A major college..So lots of red tape and different departments) do have a web server which can be used; at some point. However, I need to be able to produce something first.
> If I run http://localhost or in my case http://stone16101 ...I receive the Windows 2000 localstart page; so that works fine.
> What I can't get working is the so called simple 'Helloworld' web page. ... Basic FoxIsapi COM server
> I created an EXE of which is saved in c:/MyFirstServer along with the project.
> The COM server is called TFirstServer and the EXE is called FirstServer.
