Welcome Bernie,
To start with, very good samples and info is given in Fox Advisor from advisor media www.advisor.com.
The technical issues go from fairly simple to state-of-the-art.

For any books on VFP you can visit the site from Whil Hentzen. www.hentzenwerke.com
He is publishing books (with CD's) as well. take your pick there.

And OF COURSE, keep visiting this site with any Questions you might have. There's always someone around to help you out.
