As Cesar pointed out to me I can initialise FP when I want to generate a PDF and then switch it off when I'm done, allowing VFP (and by extension - our app) to just continue working as it always has.

It was more about the total risk and the actions required to mitigate that risk rather than a specific problem or trouble.

If you have an application which is over 12 years old and has over 1000 reports in it would you be reckless and change the Report Engine that everything was running in? I certainly wouldn't and I don't have the time to test over 1000 reports. I love FP, I think it's a wonderful solution, I'm not trying to say anything negative about FP but it is a different method and it could be professional suicide to just switch over to FP in that scenario.

I've clarified that before and still people think that I'm trying to be negative about FP, I am not. I am also not being overly cautious, I simply can't afford to switch everything over to FP in one go and then find that users need reports altering. The reports work great (99.9% of the time) the way they are currently running and I simply can't afford to cross my fingers and hope that would continue if I switched wholesale to another method. I hope that's clear.

If I was starting a new application from scratch I would surely use FP from the beginning but to switch such a mature application over without the resources to test every single report would be reckless in the extreme.
