The map is shown, but I immediately get an error I cannot explain (I don't see a file home3.html and cannot find line 774 anywhere). Maps will be called with address information (city + address) instead of geographic coordinates.

Hi

I doubt you can do something to fix the error. It seems to be something related to the web control.
I don't know if you can change that
If you take the address and paste into IE no trouble
A couple years ago I did something similar and then it was working perfect.
I tested today and I have the same eror like the one from your
right button. If I ignore is working. In IE is working.

Did you observed that you sent a HTTP address and in your error is a HTTPS address?
Also if you paste the address in IE is switching to HTTPS.
It must be related to this probably the webcontrol is starting to show his age
and is not capable to fully switch to HTTPS secure protocol. Of course just a supposition

My call is a bit more complex as I set the map

mapaddrs=civicnumber+" "+street" "+ city+" "+province.value+" "+country+" "+postalcode
mapaddrs="http://maps.google.ca/maps?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&t=h&om=0&tab=wl&q="+mapaddrs
