I am not totally adverse to set filter but this is one application I would not use it.

Grids are fantastic for their power and speed of presentation achieved via the relationship expression.

so lets take and example.

add a grid with alphabet " " then A - Z

grid two names addresses etc

click on A -----all name s with "A..... " are shown
click on B -----all name s with "B..... " are shown
do sequential search... type AB .....all name s with "AB..... " are shown
... type ABC .....all name s with "ABC..... " are shown

I am busy with this for FAQ. Anybody .. request code and I will post it on the forum as "TIP: Grid sequential search."
