Are you saying you can define and extra field in the grid that IS NOT tied to a data source and have it readwritable? That's what I initially tried to do and I was able to get the column but not as one I could put values in.

No - that is not what I am saying. This is the first time that you mentioned that you wanted your calculation to be modifiable < s >. Akthough why you would want the users to modify a calculated value is something that I do not understand....
