Definitely look at the properties of the printer.

"Spool Print Docs" and "Start Print Immediately"

Also try the print quality, try the lowest resolution first.

Is this a local printer (USB) or a Shared Network Printer?

I would also bring up the Task Manager to see what programs are busy.
