Hi,
I agree. I thought if the variables were of date type the doubt wouldn't have been posed. Emphasis on date setting is just an indirect reminder esp. to a beginner to enter both the variables in the same format (01/11 or 11/01 will not raise any error).
ctod() might be necessary when exporting data to COBOL (as copy to ...sdf will remove date separators).
