Here's how you do it.

Since you have a Fixed IP address and have a registered name, then anyone typing www.ketan.com will try to access your computer. They will fail!!

You need a web server running on your computer.

1. Install IIS which comes with XP Pro.
1A. Startup IIS - Start/ControlPanel/AdministrativeTools/Internet Information Services and start up the web server if not already done so. There are some excellent articles on setting up IIS at west-wind.com
2. Create a "Virtual directrory" in IIS and point it to the directory where you have stored the INDEX.HTM Make sure "Directory Browsing" is not allowed.
3. Accept the defaults and IIS will create a virtual directory.

4. Open Explorer, select the directory and set security permissions.
Rt Click the folder and select Properties. Select the Security tab. You will need to add settings for IWAM_YOURCOMPUTERNAME:
On the security page click ADD. In the next window, click Advanced. In the "Starts With" dropdown type "IWAM" (without quotes) and click the "Find" button. Select the user IWAM_MYCOMPUTERNAME (substitute your computer name for "mucomputername") eg my computer is IWAM_IBMXP9987

Click OK and OK again and the user IWAM_* has been added to the list. Select this user and give it READ permissions.

Now open your browser and type "http://www.ketan.com/mywebpage/index.htm" where mywebpage is the name of the virtual directory you created in step 2 above.

If all is well you should see your webpage open in explorer. And if you can see it everyone else on the internet can see it.

If you cannot see it, try opening the webbrowser and type "localhost" (without quotes) . If IIS is running, then you should see the default IIS help pahes. If not then you need to setup IIS properly and try again.
Let us know of youe progress and good luck.
