Hi,
With something like this I generally use a public memory variable declared in my Main.prg (Startup program)
PYBLIC cCurrentUser
cCurrentUser = ""
There is not need to test for this as in the Main.prg it will be available to your entire application.
You may wish to consider a Login.dbf that Appends every logged in user to your application with
a data and time stamp. Logout are also tracked here.
Using Sys(0) you can also add to this table the user's network login ID and the computer name
This is good from future trouble shooting to pin-point of the error only occures for one user, or
at one workstation.
