You can check what type the column is that is returned as General.
You would probably prefer to get it in a Blob type column.
Try
CURSORSETPROP('MapBinary', .T., 0)
CURSORSETPROP('MapVarchar', .T., 0)
before opening your remote data.
You can also try sticking a CAST() in the query to make Access return it
in a form that will map to Blob.
