Hi Claude.
Absolutely i will, AVFP has come a long way to be a stable and reliable tool, i admire your resolute, i salute you for that and like i said in this thread i honestly do appriciate you, your efforts and encouraging words. To many of us AVFP was not and is not only a tool, but a hope and believe, that things are not as bad as we are told, that we can still hangon visual foxpro a while longer . And i for one went your way .

Of Course AVFP has an edge over others. For starters it very easy to setup [following your 10 steps],easy to implement cause the basics are there, all one has to is, to add new or edit existing functions in the main file, one is not required to own a copy of VFP. AVFP site can cheaply be hosted, it's absolutely free, it has community support...the list goes on. I dedicated a website for nothing but AVFP Acitve vfp and am using it for running some tests too, it's over a year now.

FWS and AVFP to me is a big complementary. Infact at one time i wanted to request you if there is a way we could stuff more things in activevfp.dll [mtdll], so that i could test my theories of FWS and AVFP, but got heldup with work

FWS is part of networking library, and if the whole library is implemented in a single application, you come up with something like SAP[of ORACLE] but in networking library the servers are much tightly coupled together,[webServer, clientServer, webClient and the rest] can share same functions and databases, and the best part, it's free from any third party dependancy.

I really wish and pray for you success on vfp/jQuery Mobile App. It's going to be a big boost to all of us.

Sincerely

Alwy Ali

> Btw, AVFP works great with AJAX/JASON also and possibly will be faster and scale better than the others. Right now I can show you this (which was based on the FWS example:

Long time, am still struggling, ajax to me is a mind shift, bitter, but getting sweeter by the day, jquery first was like greek, now, it brings my high school memories, when we use to write functions in lotus123 for DOS, it's like drinking wine from the old cellar. Suddenly life seems to be in a recycle motion. Baby FWS rises to the occasion every time you put to test, everhandy, everready. It reminds me the song by Gloria Estafan "ANYTHING FOR YOU". Bend, squeeze, stretch FWS will rise to the occasion,i mean that.

Functions now are handsome simple and clean, why? ajax encourages shifting most processing to client side, a win in everyway. With ajax everything is internalized,it just a single page, one can literally publish a site/application and hide page sources without any efforts from developer. Now many companies offers free CDN (content delivery netowrk) for many plugins especially jquery plugins.companies like google, microsoft, yahoo, nokia and many others. It's a good move. For starters it reduces site's bandwidth usage and if embraced by developers in the long run it will reduce total internet traffic, inturn this makes ajax implementation with FWS lighter.

It reference objects like css[3], it combines and chains methods and functions far better and beyond javascript capabilities, it has reduce ajax calls and declaration by almsost 85% . What is more interesting it allows global properties and they can be redeclared in between without causing problem . What i like most is cache, username and password properties. I know cache is there on http, jquery emphasize this and implements on function calls level [dom level]. If everytime when user query database requires username and password, jquery.ajax takes care of that readily. I really want to finish the project and see how it plays and fit with your SSL. I dont know much about SSL but i have a hunch jquery will make things much easier, because things like cookies expiry, guid etc does that simply.
