It is a risk in my opinion to start new projects in Silverlight and Wpf.
I sugest to wait and see the direction MS goes after delivering Windows 8.
It seems it's going more to html5 and javascript. At the official Windows 8 presentation they did not mention about Silverlight. So I supose at the final realease at Windows 8 we will know more about the future in Ms vision. I doubt Ms's silence it is "by mistake"
