Not at all :) The hard part is to find a scenario to sample that could be helpful and still works with one of those sample databases. Scalar ones are easier in code since they simply do a calculation and return the value. Here I think I forgot to mention that this is a streaming call, where the ParseName is called per row and streamed to client.

PS: Be it CLR or not, I am sort of against SP, UDF. Making it hooked to database, I prefer keeping the logic in the application and have freedom to use a different database (and make DBAs angry).
