Probably you think that MS Access macros may be recorded as they could in Excel or Word, and then one may review automatically created VBA code, and modify code if needed. No, it is not the case. At least, I am not familiar with it in Access.
Usually I write my own VBA code.

I do not know what exactly you want to do since "update" may mean various things.
On the internet there are a lot of resources and code examples. Just search google for something like "Building a Database Application from Spreadsheets", or "excel to access", and you will find the suitable solution. See for example, http://www.lunaco.net/excel/Excel2Access.htm.
