What people don't realise is that the Database size limit is 4GB. This means that the database file cannot exceed 4gb. This can be a limiting factor if you have few large tables. You can easily exceed the 4gb limit since there is a lot more stored in a database than just your tables and data.
For instance our database where I work is 54 GB in size for about 120000 members data. I can only get it to fit on Express by limiting the members to about 1000. After that I have to spend $$$ in the thousands and buy a full blown server.
It's ok to use for a few small web sites and sample programs but for any reasonable size app you find out very soon that your decision to use the free Express is now going to cost you big bucks.
Or you will have to split your tables across a number of databases.
** If you see someone without a smile, give em one of yours :) **
