Marcia had a solution for creating multi-line headers in grids back in VFP 6.0 - this uses a label instead of the usual header text and involved some (pretty complex) code to handle alignment and synchronizing but you can find it all in Chapter 6 of "1001 Things You Wanted to Know About VFP" (aka "KiloFox") under "How do I create multiline headers?".

(Note: You cannot use horizontal scrolling with this approach though....)
