Well I was doing it like that or using a DE with tables buffered. Then it turned out to be a not so good idea having tables opened in load or in DE especially after CA is available and I use VFP or MSSQL (do not ask why not so good, assume my personal limited idea - at least maybe nodataonload is not working in SP1 which I use, don't know SP2). With CA I don't use 'native' but OLEDB. I have created a few SQL*() functions + base and generic CA classes. I use them. So in effect, a table is queried or updated using OLEDB, keeping it open only for the duration of operation. In form, it exists as a CA cursor, disconnected.
