It is just my personal preference not to see that clause in all SQL SELECTs. Same goes with mdot, it is my preference not to see it on the left side of the equation.

Although in most SQL SELECTs, a NOFILTER is invisibly added anyway by VFP, adding it on every SQL SELECT makes things easier and faster during coding time.

LOL please bear with me. I am learning new things that way, better than simply following outright what has been said. Not that I don't believe you, I learned a lot from you and in the end I realize that what I am learning is going the way you are preaching all along. Still, that really is my way. Scrutinize the whys first. It adds deeper understanding onto my side of a subject.

Okay, Mike says use NOFILTER and I do it without knowing why. Then to me I did not really learn. I just followed a sound advice of an expert without knowing the reason why. Sure it keeps me out of trouble without realizing why. Then someone asks me later "why?". And if I have not analyzed it, all I can say is "because Mike says so!" :-U

Now since I tried to find the reasons why (through arguing), someone asks me later "why?". Then I can say the reasons why and then I can add "which is what Mike has been saying all along!" ;-)
