> As far as I know, dot matrix printers like Epson can print graphics. You do not have to designe two reports, one graphics and one character. Some features like colour may not be available on dotmatrix. I have made reports which prints both on Epson, Fujitsu (dotmatrix) and Lexmark laser.

While designing the report you can select your printer, this normally does not affect the printing at users site. Also you can remover the printer definition data from report file before compiling your appliation.

So, once again , I would like to ask for suggestions from my seniors and friends about how I should go about these modules. What track should I follow so that I do not have to go back later and start over again ? Here are a few considerations before I start with the reports module.

Thanx a lot Benny & Jatin for your suggestions and your precious time. What I meant in item 3 are files like .DOC or .PDF , but I dont want to force the users to install Acrobat or MSWORD for this. And yes, Epson printers can print graphics but very slow. The users are used to printing character based reports at 300 cps. They are definitely going to complain. In the 4th item, I wanted to ask whether VFP will automatically adjust the report settings according to the printer selected by the user or do I need to do any provision for that ? I hope I have been able to explain more clearily. Please give any other suggestions you feel may help.

Thanx,

Anil
