I 100% agree of your disagree with me for your explanatin in #1 ;-)

It's a powerful (hard) feature in SQL Server.

> 2) having your SQL server on a remote machine, you need to know the IP adress of the server hosting your SQL Server, and then you use your database remotely (consider all the security rules and setting to apply). no need of any replication, use a remote SQL server as if it was local.

Well, here my turn to disagree with you. (lol)

How about the (offline) he was asking about? How to achieve that?
Upon my understanding to the word "offline" in his "not very clear explanation" offline means that his work station is not connected to the internet sql server.
