Some trading companies here now require their field sales/marketing personnel to input orders themselves using their own tablets/smartphones (most average working persons own a Blackberry or at least a 4" Android, thanks to Facebook and Indonesian USA-Today :-) ), thereby saving on back-office hardware and personnel expenses. That's the trend. Restaurants have waiters do same

I've always wanted to do something with this but was afraid I didn't have the time to get into a new language to develop in java or something else other than VFP for example. I've done an app that ran on a Windows DELL tablet using the WiFi to connect to a local server that ran my VFP app and SQL server data on a local server, but that's limited to to Windows still. This is new and exciting to me. I'm still reading through this as we speak. Thanks.

Not Appery/PSG, a friend of mine does that. The reason I gave you that link is because LAFox has done it, besides that friend of mine. I found PHP + Bootstrap 2.n or 3.0 framework more to my liking ( https://www.foxite.com/archives/0000393348.htm ) but they don't have vfp reference. PHP in a way is like VFP, it's not strong-typing eg. x=12 now then x="abc" later is ok.
You know that many kinds of web-server can be easily built and operated in-house, even XAMPP or Wampserver or Xitami or Nginx would do, ah, I purposefully left out IIS... Since 2007 I have managed to nurture this hatred in me towards M$ for abandoning us :-)
