Thanks for you insite. It just verifies the weakness of VFP in array handling and its strength in database. I prefer to use arrays when coding a well know algorithm (that has been mathematically proved correct) such as the LCS (Longest Common Sequence) problem which I recently applied. If I rewrite the algorithm using cursors, I loose the proof of correctness.
