No, you cant.
But, you can convert to XML back and forth using CURSORTOXML() or XMLTOCURSOR() in VFP7 or later. Else, you can download 3rd party tool like wwXML from www.west-wind.com for free.
If you are not use this cursor for data binding, you can create a bizobj to manage the cursor, and retrieve any field value via it. BizObj is just a class, and can pass over method.
