Some speak German, Russian, English, of course, and other languages; they are so talented. My daughter speaks Russian also having lived near Rostov na Donu (near the Black Sea). My one niece who speaks Russian lived in Moscow for about 1.5 years. She has gone on to law school and is in her second year. Like I said, my brother's children are something else, meaning talented. I honestly think it must be the way Europeans teach and how they must learn other languages, so they are "with it".

No offense toward my fellow Americans. The land mass is so large here that we are not necessarily forced to learn anything but English. However, over the past twenty or so years, Spanish has become somewhat of a necessity.

The Cubans have pretty much taken over Miami and other parts of Florida. One of my Cubano friends spoke very fast. When Elvis died in 1977, he cried like a baby, all 6' 4" of him. (Tall Cuban.) I have a Puerto Riqueño friend who also talks fast in Spanish. In fact, his accent was such that he'd cut off his s's at the end of a sentence, so that you enver heard it. If he were to say, Los Cubanos, you only heard Los Cubano from him. Or, Nosotros Vamos, would come out as Nosotro Vamo. No s's at the end.
