Frx printing is slow because it is using graphical fonts. I have not tried this because there is no more dot matrix printer on the company i am working now but i think this will work.

1. Do not use frx. Record your output instead to a text file via STRTOFILE(). That will ensure that your output will be purely draft.
2. Use TYPE [yourtextfile] TO PRINTER. If that wouldn't work well, then you can use RUN TYPE [yourtextfile] > LPT1 (provided you still have lpt or parallel ports which i presume you have considering that you still have dot matrix printers).
3. Replace your dot matrix printer with faster model. LQ-300 is slower compared to LX and FX series.
