What do you mean, "link the combo box to the vendorname field in the vendors table"?
If combobox contains the list of available entries from entry table, and you select the value in the combobox, then you may set filter like:

sele vendors table
lccom="set filter to vendorname=["+thisform.combobox.value+"]"
& lccom

On this screen is a combo box which is to have a list of all vendor names that are in the entry table. So I want to set a filter on the vendors table, and link the combo box to the vendorname field in the vendors table.
