Drive the combo from a cursor which you can generate with SQL:

Select entry.ID, vendor.name ;
from entry inner join vendor ;
on entry.id = vendor.id ;
into cursor csrNames

Filters can get slow as the tables get larger. The cursor is much small because it's only got two columns. What's more - it's stored locally so there's no network load.
